The Famous Marvel Cave Of Branson Mo Which Is A Very Important Natural Landmark Of The City

The Marvel Cave is a very important natural landmark in the city of branson mo. It is located to the west of the city in Stone County on Roark Mountain. The cave was earlier known as Marble Cave. It was purchased by William Henry Lynch in 1894, who started making a lot of money by charging tourists who wanted to see the cave. The Herschend family took charge of the cave and leased it for 99 years, in 1950. The family made the place more popular by making sure that all the visitors were entertained with square dances. The cave was also given a very modern look by cement staircases and electric lightings. The cave was later called Marvel Cave. The cave was accidentally discovered in the early part of the 16th century by Osage Indians. There is a lot of evidence to suggest that the Spanish found the cave and explored it in 1541. However, the first official finding was by Henry T. Blow in 1869. The cave got its name after the initial explorers thought that the ceiling of the cave had marble in it. A mining company to extract marble was started, although it became very clear later on that there was not a piece of marble in the cave. Surprisingly, the mining company was stopped from continuing its operations only after almost 4 years. The branson shows cave has a lot of history and myth behind it. The Spanish conquerors spent a lot of time and money searching for buried treasure and the fountain of youth. Some people still believe that the Spanish buried treasure in Marvel Cave. The organizers of the cave started the Lantern Light Tour in 2006. Here, everyone is given a lantern and the lights are turned off. Similar other branson shows are also popular in Branson Missouri.
